I know I’m not the only one who has spots in their house that kind of drive them nuts… but you forget that you could actually change them up so they become a source of joy instead of constant frustration ahahaha.
This was me on a random weekday during my lunch break (I work from home) messaging ChatGPT:
“Chatty, this area literally drives me nuts. It’s so cluttered, and I have a very small kitchen with little storage space, so I can’t throw all this in a junk drawer. But I do need this stuff easily accessible like pens, scissors, remotes, charging cords, etc. Do you have any ideas for how to make this cute and functional?”
It gave me a list of ideas, but I couldn’t follow all the sentences and needed some visuals, so I’ll share the picture it gave me below in case you like these ideas but want to try a different version!

Anywho, I loved the idea of a little tray where I could have a cute candle, some greenery, and maybe some jars with lids so the clutter was more contained and hidden when it wasn’t being used.
Even though I only had an hour lunch and needed every minute, when I get a new idea I have to start it 😂 So I pretty much dumped everything out on the counter and started going through it like my life depended on it.
It’s kind of funny when you get an idea and then can’t get it out of your head and suddenly need it all done THAT DAY.
My husband came home from work and saw me using the tape measure and always knows I’m up to no good when that happens….I like to air on the side of asking for forgiveness rather than permission but I don’t know if that’s good marriage advice lol.
We couldn’t find a tray we liked (that was less than like $50, jeez Louise some were expensive), so my husband basically said “hold my water“, went out to the garage, and then proceeded to spend way too much time being a perfectionist, but made the best box for us! He painted it that weekend for me too (after I went and got some paint). He’s not always up for my ideas (in his defense, I do have some crazy ones), but he has told me multiple times how good of an idea this was. 🤭

In case you’ve been like me and forgot that you can reorganize an area of your house, maybe one that’s been the same since you moved in, here’s your permission slip to do a little refresh.
I love, love, love that area now. It makes me so happy. And I used to complain about it almost daily LOL 😂
It took no time at all, and you could make this pretty cheap, especially if you find items off of Facebook Marketplace.
It’s the little things, you know?
I hope you find a new spot in your home that brings you a fresh dose of contentment 🤍

Much love + I’m rooting for you!
